President's Message It is with great pleasure that I extend a hardy WELCOME. The Valley of the Moon Dilettante Enological
Society (VOMDES) was started some time ago to provide a platform
for learning and enhancing winemaking skills. We are a group of approximately
60 members that share a common interest in the production and making
of wine as well as the pure enjoyment of wine itself. Although we
are a group of "home" or "private" winemakers,
we certainly have a lot of good wine makers and growers. Some of
today's boutique winemakers once started at home. Home winemaking is an enjoyable, educational and satisfying hobby. The basic steps are easy to learn. Practice makes perfect. Advanced principles and techniques are not difficult to master, and over time, anyone can achieve great results. Recently two members of our group went "commercial." We do learn from each other as well as others and take advantage of our location. We have good speakers at our monthly meetings and share experiences and resources. I would like to extend an invitation to anyone
who has an interest in wine
